Happy Canada Day

MEALS ON WHEELS  :-
   We appreciate the help of the volunteers from the Essex United Church, for
Their help in delivering meals this month. A total of 157 meals were delivered by our friends from Essex Gospel Tabernacle during May. We are looking for help during the summer months of July and August. If you have a vehicle and can spare 45 minutes a week: you can do this job !!. Please call and Volunteer.

POT LUCK--We will be continuing our
Pot Luck dinners throughout the summer months. Our date for July is " July 11th at 12 noon. Plan on attending. Bring your own dishes and cutlery, and a favourite  food to share with others. Our VON Nurse will be here from 12:30 to 2:30 , and there is always a game of cards to fill out your afternoon.
Also remember our Diner's Club is on every Tuesday and Thursday for your dining pleasure.

CONGRATULATIONS !!
   Several Essex People took medals in the Senior Games Competitions. We wish to congratulate all the winners and wish them well as they go on to Actifest in Ottawa during the month of August.

   The Lawn Bowling team, consisting of  Mary Bebee, Maxine Weller, and Ben Wells
Took first place, earning a Gold Medal. Floyd  Cascadden, Virgery Cascadden and Agnes Little took the Bronze in Lawn   Bowling. In Pepper, Maxine Weller and Rheva Grieve took second. In Carpet     Bowling Fausto Angelini and Jack Blyth  took first, Virgery and Floyd Cascadden took Second, and Maxine Weller and Rheva Grieve took third. The Team of Walter Gerard placed first in 5 Pin Bowling. Faye White and Floyd Cascadden took bronze in Bocce. Jim Levy took 1st in the 8 ball and Snooker.. Medals were awarded at the Awards Banquet on June 20, 2000 at the K.of C. Council 2844, on Walker Road in McGregor.
